The L5 connectors are only for LDF5 Heliax, which has a smaller center
conductor that AVA5.
You need either an AL5 connector, or an A5 connector. The AL5's are more
common.

It’s a pretty old connector that Andrew has not made for a long time
so maybe this connector is difficult by nature to get on. Maybe the
right answer is to just go out and buy a more modern connector?
