A Ditch Witch with a vibrating plow leaves the soil intact. it has a hollow plow blade, the wire mounts on a spool in the back and is automatically fed as the plow processes. All you need do is dig a small hole at the begging of the run and drive off. It even goes through asphalt and any type of soil. It leaves behind only a small scar the size of the straight portion of the blade which heals quickly and is invisible in a few days. You can probably rent one or get one with driver on weekends from the local cable company. you can do 60 radials in a few hours.

I buried all of my 160 meter radials (approx 60) with a home-made radial

radial. Modified subsoiler - less than $200 invested.

Sunbelt Rentals in Orlando, FL rents an EZTrench that digs the hole,

Although Sunbelt Rentals has some west coast locations,
none of them rent EZTrench. When I called to ask about
it, I got an attitude like "nobody needs them".
As far as buying one: they are 1000's of dollars.

Now that N6LF has published his elevated radial tests,
I have decided to go with elevated radials for all
future antennas. I am convinced that they can do
as well as on the ground ones, if properly engineered.
The plan is to use bare aluminum electric fence wire
supported by 10 foot long PVC pipes (1 1/2 inch size)
slipped over T-posts. This works well due to the
light weight of the wire.

May not be an option for everyone due to the visual
clutter.
