Yeah, capacitance varies.  The 40pf/ft was the first one I saw in my belden
book, other variations were listed at 28 or 30pf/ft.

My table said 25 pF/ft.  RG-8/rg-213 is 13pF/ft


So, moral of the story is, check for the brand of your coax, and use the
appropriate length.
