Antennas work fine for transmit without ferrite chokes. The primary benefits of a ferrite choke on the feedline are 1) to minimize receive noise, 2) to minimize crosstalk between antennas, and 3) to minimize RFI issues caused by TX RV on the feedline.

For many years I used no choke on dipoles and they seemed to work fine.
