I own a TX-472 tower. The top section of which is the ‘standard’ triangle that
is 11-7/16” per side.
While a Hygain Ham IV will fit inside with sufficient clearance when the tower
is lowered and all the sections are nested, a T2X rotor can make contact with
the cross braces and can only be fully nested when the rotor is in a specific
position.
I am wondering how other hams deal with the issue of rotors not fitting fully
inside tower sections of crank-ups?
One thing I could do is place a steel stop beneath the rotor shelf height so
that when lowered, the top section will not fully nest inside the next section.
I’d like to use the T2X instead of my Ham IV, better still, I’d like to install
a rotor with greater accuracy because of the UHF and VHF boomers that are on
the mast along with my SteppIR.
Anyone have any ideas besides mine? Any recommendations for more accurate (1-2
degrees) rotors?
