1/2 wl of coax will show the actual antenna impedance but I also wonder why
this matters.

What is the benefit of making the feedlines odd multiples of a quarter
wavelength long?  I have heard this elsewhere, but have not yet figured out
the benefit. Does it depend on the type of phase box - whether it is a
simple relay switching box or a Stackmatch-type box with broadband
transformers?
