STI of California was mentioned below. I used to buy from them but switched to
another USA Mfr. who provides stronger rope at lower prices. STI supplies some
ham dealers and I supply the rest. My rope is stronger, size per size than they
sell. DX Engineering also sells STI.
I haven't checked lately but my prices are lower than other dealers.
Ref. buying from DAVIS RF, my affiliate which I started years ago: My
other company noted, DavisRopeAndCable.com, has more variety of rope. I still
work with both companies. Confusing? HI My last name is Davis, i.e. the two
similar co's.

I've bought LOTS of black dacron line over the years because we used it
for supporting various wire antennas in tall trees for Field Day.? I
bought most of it from Davis RF, and the stuff is still holding up
strong even after many years in the Arizona sun.? It comes in various
thicknesses and you can buy it by the foot.

Depending upon what thickness you think you need, 200 feet will probably

I get this rope directly from the manufacturer, Synthetic Textiles Inc. in
Anaheim, CA.
Been using a lot of it since 1993, when it was first introduced.
As it reads on their website,
"STI's Double-braided Polyester Antenna Support Rope was originally developed
and manufactured at the constant urging of a local Ham radio operator. His years of
expertise in amateur radio equipment, combined with ours in braiding various fiber,
inspired the development of this special double-braided rope to fit the needs of
amateur radio operators.
"STI's Double-braided Polyester ropes are not weakened by decay or mildew and
provide excellent resistance to abrasion. The color sealed black polyester yarn used in
the braided jacket also protects the cord from ultra-violet light."
I urged them to make this rope available to the "ham radio antenna installer"
market in 1993, back when they were two women running the shop in Ventura, CA and bought
five 1000' spools of each size offered. They've since relocated to Anaheim, but I
believe the rope is the same.

expensive and stands up to wind, salt water and UV.
