Some of that really isn't true.  The earlier AC model of the rotator was called just PST61, while the later DC model (with better water protection) is called the PST61D.  Prosistel clearly describes the two rotators as being different, and points out that the controllers are not compatible with each other.

The problem with Prosistel in Italy is that they have so many variants of
the same model, BUT without identifying each as different.

I have two PST61 rotators, the first was green and has a 48v AC motor, the
other a 12v (I think) DC motor, two completely different animals, yet both
PST 61.

IU have contacted the company about internal information of the rotator
itself, and although they were very nice, the stock answer was to send it to
them for repair.

It is the same for the controllers. Most of those have a transformer that
must be on the edge of it's rated limits as I've had 5 out of the 6
controller TX here fail, the simple answer was to fit a 50% uprated TX
unit.

As to the rotator itself, mine relied upon the main body bolted to the
'foot' of the rotator by four 1/4inch machine screws, no interlocking
castellations of any sort. So all that antenna torque relied on the 1/4inch
screws.

The answer for me was to weld the foot to the main body, I also filled the
body with hypoid gear oil. It's been fine ever since

My other PST61 has been rebuilt and also filled with gear oil, the main
problem with the early 61 was water ingress via the top bearing.

Which prop pitch motors do not hold well in the wind?

Did you ask ProSisTel for a manual or their distributor?

Dave,I didn't say the antenna is rotating back and forth. It only goes CCW.
It rotated 11 degrees CCW today. So far it is a very slow rotation only
CCW.There was a series of PP that could self-rotate even with their gear
reduction.
Still looking for a manual that deals with the inside of the rotator.
