Ed N1UR: "Europeans use the words tower and mast pretty inter-- changeably in my experience. It was clearly what we Americans would call a guyed tower." Seems the American tower building code committee didn't get the memo. TIA-222 uses these terms "Guyed mast: a latticed or pole structure with supporting guys." "Self-Supporting Latticed Tower" "Antenna Mounting Pipe" instead of mast. Curious why they adopted the guyed mast terminology when it's doubtful the professionals on the committee from the tower industry actually use that phrase in their day-to-day work? 73 Jim K6OK _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ TowerTalk mailing list TowerTalk@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/towertalk |
