I have a Mavic Pro and I made a forward facing hook that slides sideways into
the bottom rear feet. Fly forward until you get where you want to drop whatever
(I use a small caribiner) then turn the drone around and back up. The payload
falls off and voila! Cost was a sacrificed clothes hanger.

I use this for my Mavic Air 2:

However, as best I can tell the Phantom 3 doesn't have the same LED
landing light, and I can't find where Hanatora offers a similar payload
release mechanism for a Phantom 3. I believe that Sky Hook does, but it
is probably the type that uses a separate radio link and they cost
closer to $200.
