I think You are right about the wire, see the product descriptions;

   /The wire is 10 gauge tined solid copper wire. The coil support bars

Only the main webpage mention nickel-plated wire. (The description for one of the coils say tined (???) solid copper wire in the first paragraph but nickel-plated in the second paragraph. However the second paragraph seems to be a copy-paste of the main webpage.

I suspect he buys the wire on large spools, has some sort of winding machine to form the raw coils, then melts the plastic insulators onto the wire.

And now... I'm wondering whether it's possible that his wire might actually be tinned copper, and not nickle-plated?? Perhaps he's called it "nickle-plated" simply because words failed him when it came time to write the description/ad and that's what came to mind??
