Unless there is some kind of pressing need I generally won't use old and obviously damaged coax as a feedline. HOWEVER, I have used worn out/jacket damaged coax as ground radials for verticals or in a pinch even rotor or remote antenna switchbox control cables. (things unrelated to feeding RF down a coaxial cable). Waste not; want not.
