Well - you should only need to process the file once. Use the
POST U E F N (I think that is right) command to load in an ASCII
name file with the format CALL space NAME. This should work if
you already have the calls in there, but they don't need to be
there.
It can take a long time for this to happen (1 minute on a Pentium,
10 minutes on a 486, and longer on a 386).

That will work.

Well, the next version actually might address this. I have gone to
a general purpose routine to load data into the TRMASTER database
which allows you to specify the column (cursor position) where the
call is, and the same for the data you want to pull out of the log
(i.e.: name, QTH, FOC number, etc).
Perhaps when that is release (in a week or so), you can take advantage
of this new feature.

That comes from the 940. You should be able to find a volume control
POT somewhere to turn this off. With the TS850S, it is controlled
with a setup parameter.

No wonder you think the TRMASTER update takes a long time... let
it run overnight!!
When the TR tells the radio to go into split mode, it needs to send
several commands to the 940 to accomplish this. The 940 isn't real
fast at processing these commands, and I suspect this is where the
delay is coming from. It isn't a baud rate problem.
