A new contest - and always a new configuration challenge...

for that you know what I am talking about, her the rules I came across
in packet:
(please tell me if you find it inappropriate to repeat this on this
reflector)

          B.
Multi ops ( CW, SSB or MIX )
            1. Single TX - one signal anytime,

            Exchange:RS(T) + WWL
            ( 4 characters, for e.g. JN79 )

Points:Depends on computed distance between centers of
locators
            each 500 km = 1 point
            on 3,5 x 2, on 1,8 x 4

Multipliers:First two character of WWL
            - World Field
            on each band separately
            ( regardless mode )

Results: Sum of point x sum of multipliers

Logs: ONLY electronics logs
( any log in ASCII format will be accepted, recommended
software
N6TR, it is not necessary to have computed points,
multipliers or
final results ) deadline 15th May to:

Well, it looks like we can get this going easily with the Stew Perry set
up for multiple bands, and indeed you can log this way. It should even
work with V4.05 with exchange received = rst domestic qth and
domestic multiplier = wysiwyg, as Karel or WWL.exe will compute the
score afterwards.

But surely you want to know if the other station is a new mult for you,
i. e. if you have worked his Field before. As the Stew Perry does not
deal with mults, you can't see it there. So I set up like this:

WWL\logcfg.dat -------------------------------------
MY CALL = DL2ZAV
input config file = c:\log\name\common.cfg
CONTEST = STEW PERRY
contest name = World Wide Locator Contest
DISPLAY MODE = COLOR
multiple bands = true
qso by band = true
mult by band = true
mult by mode = false
domestic multiplier = domestic file
domestic filename = 324field.dom
REMAINING MULT DISPLAY MODE = Erase ; can't get all 324 on screen
INITIAL EXCHANGE = GRID
exchange received = rst domestic qth
LITERAL DOMESTIC QTH = TRUE
<EOF> logcfg.dat -------------------------------------

Now, the QSO points shown are wrong. I get 8 points for my own grid.
Maybe TR is trying to process the JO in the multiplier column as
JO<SPACE><SPACE> = JO 20h 20h and calculates the distance from that?
I've tried to compensate this by moving MY GRID, but without success. I
ended up in Novaya Zemlya, then JO was correct (1 point), but the rest
of the world is still wrong.
As the final score will be calculated by Karel and you can't implement
the double and quadruple QSO points on 80 and 160 anyway, simply ignore
the QSO point column. You can guess the points from the distance shown
in the beam heading window.

For the multipliers, you need a list of all 324 Locator Fields. Here it
is. I have changed the order so that European grids show up in the
remaining mult display. You can simply move the lines with the grids you
want to see there to the end of the file.
