I have lived around it for a long time - it does not particularly bother
me, but the only time I program speed changes is during my exchange, and I
never manually change my speed at that time unless it is at the beginning
while TRlog is sending his callsign, before getting to the ^S or ^F.
If all else fails, the program tells you what the basic speed is after it
is all over, and you have chopped up only one contact at most - and even at
that you made the Q and it is now in the log. You can recover your
composure during your 73 or CQ message. No biggie.
