Hi Floyd,

I think this is the problem. The ICOM 706 CI-V interface is mono.

I'm using a mono plug with data on the tip and body to ground. My interface
cable is actually one made for the Yaesu VX-5R with a stereo plug but it
works for the ICOM 706 using a mono adapter.
