Before going back to bed, I dusted off the FT980 commands that
someone had sent me to see if I can add it to the next release.
I was disappointed to find that the interface for this radio is
very different than most of the other radios - and is even missing
the "quick frequency" inquiry that enabled the FT1000 and FT990 to
really work with a logging program.
The interface requires me to disable the front panel and then
receive a 148 byte status update. I am not sure this can be
stopped in the middle and even if it could, I am afraid that
always disabling the front panel to read the frequency isn't
a very good idea.
I have sent a note to Yaesu, asking if perhaps a command has been
added that isn't in my documentation - or if they can add it
in the future.
Has anyone seend the 980 work with either CT or NA or WriteLog?
