[Trlog] Limit to size off .dat ffile that TR can handle???

I am in the process off trying to merge some large log files together. 
Is there a limit to the size of file TR can handle? I don't know exactly 
where the problem occurs, but when we try to merge a file with some 
24,000 q's with another with some 13,000 q's the merge report generates
a negative number. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
