KK1L's suggestion certainly works, if you have enough serial ports. If you have 
access to a clunker PC, running Windows 98, that has ethernet and 1 serial 
port, 
use that as your "router" to the internet. Wintelnetx is a fine program for 
these purposes, once you get it configured right.

I almost get nostalgic for the good old days of the early 90's, when these kind 
of setups were much more common.

If you're willing to break up with Tree, there is other contesting software out 
there, besides TR4W, that some ex-TRLog users are very happy with.
