Steve, Assuming the transverter actually WORKS, you will make a lot more points
(Q's AND grids) using it, even at 5 watts, than with the HT.. But I'd get it
NOW and get the bugs worked out well before the contest.. There'll be plenty of
other last minute stuff to attend to just before the contest.. I would do it
though.. 222 is a great band!
