Keep in mind that Steve and Sandra have been moving DEMI from NJ to Florida
these past several months. I am sure we all know how hard it is to just
move your personal belongings to a new residence so I can not even imagine
what it takes to move a business like that. Also keep in mind that DEMI has
always been a one man and woman shop. They have never been fast and I too
have waited patiently for several months to get something from them. Every
time I see Steve and/or Sandra at a hamfest or conference I always shake
their hands and thank them for providing us the service they do. Keep in
mind that without them we would have NO ONE in the US supplying transverters
or any other equipment for the VHF and higher bands. You can always buy the
DB6NT stuff from Germany, pay an arm and a leg, deal with customs, etc. if
you wish. Or you can call HRO or one of the other mass market ham radio
dealers but good luck getting anything for 222, 903, etc. out of them. If
you can't kerchunk a repeater with it they don't carry it.

Hi Les,
If you just ordered your DEMI 222 transverter, you definitely will NOT have
it for August UHF or September VHF, and most likely not even for the January
2009 VHF contest. Iv'e had mine on order since the second week of February,
and still no confirmation as to when I "might" see it. Don't bother leaving
Steve a voice mail, he doesen't answer them.
Sorry for venting, but my experience with DEMI has been less than
satisfactory. My only response back from DEMI was via email in June, stated
I could see it around the middle of July. It's now closer to the end of
July, no confirmation of product shiped, no product delivered yet.
Les, I hope you find something used. If you can latch onto a FT-736R with a
222 module, you will be very happy. In hind-site, I should have gone that
route.
