The following idea came to me a sa possible compromise or rule change for the 
EME contests.
 
Assign different values for each type of contact.
 
1 point for for digital
2 points for CW
3 points for SSB.
 
Then use the grid and band multipliers if applicable.
Allow all forms of spotting since you can not control it.
The goal is activity isn’t it?
 
My logic
 
It seems that EME is regarded by many as the ultimate challenge of ham radio.  
There is resentment by some over WSJT making it more obtainable.  WSJT is 
easier to do that CW and it really takes a good station or circumstances to 
complete on ssb, so a sliding scale would address this reality.
