I am just letting everyone know that I will once again be making my trek to
EN39. The trip is from July 2-10. I do not know how much I will be operating
this year. I am toning down my operation a little bit.
In past years I have run all 3 bands - 50, 144, 432mHz. However, 6m seems to be
the only band that gets any activity so I am confining my operating to only 6m
this year. This will ease on set up as well. I will be able to raise the 6m
beam much easier alone than all of the antennas. I am not sure if I will even
use my rotator this year. I may just revert back to the old "armstrong method"
- no rotator, (heavy) bracket, and cable to worry about = faster set up/tear
down.
Frequencies to look for -
SSB - 50.125 to 50.150, unless the band is crowded I may move up closer to
50.200
CW - 50.080 to 50.100
I will probably be taking 3 radios this year - FT-857D, TS-2000, and my new
Elecraft K2 (QRP HF CW only).
See my QRZ listing for a little bit more. Note - the listing is out dated, I
have taken quite a break from it and most of my core ham radio activities in
the last year and a half or so. I need to get back up to speed on everything.
Please pass along the info on my operation to all the VHF'ers out there. I
always have a good time working the pileups.
See you on the band!
Steve, KC8QVO
