I think I've mentioned before here that -any- VHF/UHF activity in this
area is almost non-existent these days. Even in the old days
(80's/90's/early 2000's) there was at best 10-11guys to work in a V/UHF
contest all weekend long all across VE1/W1(Maine), VY2 & VE9--can't work
VO1/2 from here <normally>. Most of those guys are permanently QRT (sk)
or moved away or are onto other things. I don't even regularly turn on
my 2m CW/SSB rig anymore. No need. Nobody to work 99.999% of the time.
I watch the clusters (sometimes) for reported activity and if there's a
rip snorting Aurora, or an unusually good tropo, I'll get on 2m CW(or
SSB). Last year I worked into VE3 on CW tropo (highly unusual from
here). I think that was the first time working VE3 on 2m tropo and I've
been on 2m legacy modes since the 80's.
Dave, now VE3KG (previously VE9CB) might even be able to give you a
BETTER picture of "my" local activity as he was QRV here in
the FN65 area for a few years on several VHF/UHF bands while I barely
ever turn the rig on anymore.
Anyways, keep the FB 222 messages coming. I read nearly every one of
them.
