FSK.

The best way to run AFSK (PSK, RTTY, SSTV, Hell, and the rest) and FSK RTTY
is through the PACKET (AFSK) and RTTY (FSK) connectors on the back of the
rig. After wiring these appropriately, you select the PKT or RTTY buttons
on the front to select the proper input. Using either of these, you can use
all your filters. It's great.

If you input the AFSK signal into the microphone connector, then you would
have to depress the USB or LSB buttons to select that mode. At least with
the MARK-V, you wouldn't be able to use the narrowest filters in the SSB
modes.

However, it is beyond me why anyone would want to use the microphone input
for AFSK if they have an MP. SO "YES" you can use narrow filters for AFSK,
but not using the mike connector and SSB mode. (That's *NOT* a negative!)
Further info available at the 1000MP reflector available at qth.com, if
memory serves. GL - 73
