I have not purchased the dell laptop yet, just asking if the RITTY and
Writelog RITTY will work with the ESS1887 chip that is in the Dell, I do not
want to purchase it if these two programs will not work, Example, I have a
Toshiba model 2595cdt and neither program will work on this laptop, also
tried mmtty and it wont work. It can receive but will not transmit,

What's the 1887? I've seen the ESS Maestro-2E and 3i, but I'm not familiar
with "ESS1887".
As I've said before, "it works with mine" is meaningless. Version 4 of
RITTY comes up on the opening screen with a comment about the soundcard. On
some it says "8-bit A/D, partial mixer". You might think it's "working",
but if you're only getting 8-bits, you're hurtin'! HI
Any more specifics about the 1887 greatly appreciated. tnx - 73
