There have been a *lot* of questions lately which could be answered with a
quick search of the reflector archives - every message ever posted to this
reflector is saved and indexed for keyword searching. The archives are a
great tool, but probably few of us use them with any regularity; I
personally didn't know they existed until a few months ago, and I've been on
the reflector for about 2 years!

I would encourage all WriteLog users (especially the new users) to make an
effort to search the archives for an answer to your question before posting
to the reflector.

If you don't find the answer you're looking for, then by all means, ask the
question on the reflector!

Here are some helpful web page links you will probably want to bookmark:

http://search.contesting.com/search.cgi - powerful keyword searching -
include "WriteLog" in the query to limit searches to the WriteLog reflector,
as the index normally includes *all* reflectors hosted at contesting.com --
it's a little slow sometimes but will give you the results you're after

http://lists.contesting.com/_writelog - general browsing of all archives,
sorted by month. If you know you've seen a question before and can remember
roughly when it was posted, this might be a good way to find it again.

As an example (picking from two recent postings, not meant as a criticism of
any posting in particular), entering a search query of:

   WriteLog "front panel"

turned up 37 results.

A search query of:

   writelog cabrillo dupes

found 23 results.

The answers to both of the recent postings are contained in the search
results.

73,
