I have found a similar problem, that has seemingly always been there:
If I use more than three >, it sees none of them,
I use this primarily for call sign clarification ( KV1W gets a K4JW reply
often ).
I program F8 with >>>de kv1w <<<, and it's fine,
if I use more >, it doesn't work.
I use the W5XD keyers, but as I recall this was an issue before their
installation.

Maybe this will help find the gremlin
