The last time I networked any computers in the ham shack
I was using 10 Mbps and RG-58 coax. As a precaution I
added large toroid cores on each end of the coax cables
and ran a few turns of cable through each. Never observed
any problems with this system.
Now that things have moved up to 100 Mbps (and 1000)
and are using twisted pair--I just wonder if things will be
as trouble free or if I may have some issues with either
radiated interference raising my receiver noise floor--or
transmitter RF getting into the computers?
I am networking a couple of computers for real time backup
of WriteLog. I just hope my life isn't going to get any more
complex. Is there nything I should do as a precaution such
as shielded pair and ferrites--or am I being paranoid?
