I personaly use the "G3VGR Icom CI-V Interface"
which was pretty simple to build using parts
available from RS.

look near the bottom of the above website for
the schematic for this simple ci-v clone. There
are many listed on this page... some more
complex than others. I found the G3VGR version
to be the most simple.
