You can also change the CI-V address in writelog, see the help files for INI
settings. You can use any baud rate you want as long as both the rig and
the computer have the same setting.

You must be referring to an Icom 756 Pro-II. The problem is that the
default
CI-V address in the radio is different than what is programmed into WL.
The 756Pro-II's "Other" Menu settings required to talk to WL are as follows:
CI-V baud rate - 9600
CI-V address - 5ch
CI-V transceive - ON
CI-V with IC-731 - OFF
In WL, set your port settings as follows:
Radio - Icom 756 PRO
Baud Rate - 9600
Poll - YES
Comm PTT - Yes
