My experience is that with sound cards that have the 20 db boost ability,
that the Heil works just fine, and with the levels set properly,
you can't distinguish it from plugging it into the rig directly.
SO, that's what we do and all works fine.
It does take a while to get all the levels set properly,
but it is time well invested.

During CQWW I used my Heil HC-4 headset to record my DVK messages and all
seemed to work ok. I only had 1 comment about the audio and not sure if it
was a real complaint or just propagation problems. But I did not have time
to get on the air and test it with anyone will check it out completely
before the next SSB contest.
