Using 10.42C during NAQP SSB I would get random "WL Sound performed an
illegal operation and will be shut down" messages, maybe once every two hours.
The
system had to be warm booted to restore.
On top of that, every 15-20 minutes the mic audio would stop working after
changing radio concentration from A to B or B to A. The function keys would
only
produce background noise when this happened. The system would have to be warm
booted to restore.
With a P3-400 computer and the Preset Exchange file enabled, warm boots take
4-5 minutes. I took an additional half hour off to disable all startup files
and do a disk scan, but that didn't help.
This SNAFU cost me at least 200 QSO's and 20 mults. I doubt I was actually
operating 8 of the 10 hours.
Any ideas?
