Windows XP or 98SE, Kenwood TS-850SAT, serial port key line. The problem has
occurred on 2 different computers. RTTY/FSK works great.

I hope hope some guru out there can steer me to a solution. I have not seen
anyone mention a CW keying problem such as I am experiencing.

Sometimes the sent characters in a buffer stutter or halt momentarily.

I have had the transceiver lock up while transmitting. The only way I can
clear it is to do the TS850's version of the 3 finger salute: Power off.
Power on while depressing the A=B switch. Of course, I lose any
configuration or saved freq's.

My keying scheme is similar to what appears on Don's (AA5AU) page. (npn,
resistor,etc.). I do not have any ferrites in the circuit. I also do not
think I have any RFI problems.

I changed the transistor on the CW keying line.

Please reply directly to me. I have a spamblocker, but will be monitoring
suspect email for legit stuff. Thanks in advance for any help.

Dave Earnest, K7JJ
