This has been fixed. [big sigh of relief!]

It was Writelog telling the Rigblaster to go into PTT/CW, but it wasn't a
Writelog software problem, but rather a Writelog Setup issue on my part.

I thought I had tried every combination possible (at least twice) -- but
apparently not. Roger, VE3ZI, was very patient and helpful with this,
and gave me settings to try. He wrote (in part):

=====
Just to reiterate, on the Ports setup tab:

Com 1 CW Rig type Baud Rate Poll Comm PTT
Yes IC-746(?) Auto Yes No

Check 'All mode PTT on CW port RTS'

Select CW Keyer Type
PC Generates
=====

Now the Rigblaster is working correctly. Hooray!

My apologies for raising the red flag -- I was simply very
stuck, thought I had tried everything multiple times, and
couldn't find doc that said exactly what I needed to do.

And along the "doc" lines, I might suggest to both the Writelog
and Rigblaster folks that some PF1 help (Writelog) and/or
some Support (Rigblaster) doc be added that gives the very
basics of VE3ZI wrote for me (above). I'd hate to have anyone
else be frustrated like I was.

Many thanks to VE3ZI!!! And also thanks to the few others
who offered suggestions. Only in ham radio could a poor
desperate guy like me ask for help, and receive responses
from Germany, Canada, and England, as well as the U.S.!
