Read the rules. They will tell you how many points a particular state,
zone, country etc are worth. When you put in the call, tap the spacebar.
If it shows a new multiplier, then you know it's a mult. The rules will
tell you how multipliers are scored.

Maybe a novice feature that could be turned on only if useful.
