[WriteLog] Missing qso entry window

I've had this issue a couple of times now and it's driving me nuts. 
Opening up a new contest gives me a small box for a qso entry window and 
no way to enter data.  A full reinstall seems to be the only fix.  Isn't 
there some other way?
