I have also found that SOME users of Windows 95/98/ME/SE don't have the most
recent version of the Microsoft Installer.
All WL users of those operating systems should go to use this page and
download the latest msi installer:

I downloaded the updated installer for my WinME and the install went OK
without problem, as did the upgrade to 10.58E. If you are using some other
Windows version, sorry for the bandwidth.
