Hello Mark...thanks for the advice....I did in fact look for a newer
driver set for the card and I found it at driverguide.com. I installed
it and re-ran the soundboard check program and Voila!! 7F now.
Now I can start experimenting with the soundcard as a DVK through Writelog.
I am currently making up the necessary cables.
Thank you very much and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Hi Ted,

It could be you need a "newer" driver, did you check the
Creative Labs website for the latest driver?

Also, companies sometimes produce several models under the
same name that have different capabilities, especially if
different years, or a version customized for a particular
computer manufacturer. i.e, not all "PCI128" may be exactly
the same.

Also, I don't think the Sound Board Check program has been updated
for many years, and Windows may have changed in ways that make its
readings different.
