I have a problem similar in nature. I use XP, WriteLog 10.67 [or later
iterations with same result], WinKey 2 and Omni VII. When I hook up, I can
either have keying through WinKey/WL or rig control, but not both. If I
select the Omni VII in the proper port, I can only key the rig in one
continuous tone until I hit the Esc, though it will show the proper band and
frequency. If I leave only the CW port [which is com 3], the rig keys just
fine but rig control shows either "No Rig" or "MHz" with no band or
frequency [not surprisingly, because com 7 is not selected]. The USB/serial
converter is tried and true on works OK with other applications. I have
tried all the different baud rates, including default. Different baud rates
produce "No Rig" or only "MHz" depending on which one of them I choose, but
none will give rig control and keying at the same time.
The same setup [same as Omni VII, above, with appropriate designation of
rig] works fine with an ICOM 756 Pro III and a CIV cable.
Ideas? Very frustrating.
