[WriteLog] Methods of calculating time on/off?

We used WL and N1MM for the W1AW/3 from DC operation.

I'd like to know how long my station was on the air, and am wondering how
the time is calculated. In other words, what's the trigger point that
creates a period of time to be "off"?

We were using the DXpedition mode configuration for both software packages.
