Hi Dean.

Thanks for the encouragement - I think I will eventually get there.

Concerning the Flex: AFAIK, SO2R has been discussed only in connection with the 6700, which has two independent receivers in it. I suspect SO2R support for the 6500 is not far away.

You might find more info on one of the Flex reflectors - either the community or the independent SmartSDR list at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/FlexRadioSmartSDR/info .

Duelling CQ's will definitely work in WriteLog using single computer SO2R. I used to have it working then changed computers and could not get it to work and then it finally started to work for me about a year ago.

I did not do a very good job of documenting why it worked but for sure you need to have the 'auto Resume' box ticked under the timed CQ or alt-T box.

In order to commence the feature you call CQ on radio 1 then use the shift-down arrow to shift focus to radio 2Â and hit your CQ button again.

I'm using WL 11.15A and I cannot verify at the moment the details as I do not currently have an so2r setup having just recently sold a rig but that's the best info I have. It may also have required some specific '%x' variable at the end of the CQ message.

Note that I don't know the extent to which this will work with Flex for example.

One question I do have for the Flex folks is whether this SO2R feature will work with the lower priced Flex rigs or if it is unique to the 6700. I am also assuming the Flex only has a single transmitter which moves from band to band? While the two or more receivers do their jobs?

I got an encouraging detailed note from n0at a few minutes ago telling me that it definitely worked this morning on his rig. So I haven't given up yet. I am going to update to 11.30c and start over. I will check to see if CW works this time before I try RTTY.

Two PC SO2R is a lot simpler and works FB. I used to do it that way, but my Flex 6700 is two radios in one box and doesn't allow 2 PCs to control it.

BTW, I believe this could be done with an external macro program if their macro can call another macro, but I haven't pursued that yet.

Jerry, I'm not 100% sure on this but I do not think Dueling CQ works in RTTY mode. You can try it in CW mode to see if it works. If so, switch to RTTY and see if it works. If it works on CW but doesn't work on RTTY then it confirms what I remember about it not working on RTTY. I do SO2R RTTY on two networked PCs and it definitely doesn't work on RTTY that way. 73, Don AA5AU    From: Jerry Flanders <<mailto:jeflanders@comcast.net>jeflanders@comcast.net> To: Mike Heideman <<mailto:mike_heideman@hotmail.com>mike_heideman@hotmail.com>; "<mailto:writelog@contesting.com>writelog@contesting.com" <<mailto:writelog@contesting.com>writelog@contesting.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 7, 2015 4:52 PM Subject: Re: [WriteLog] Dueling CQ's in WriteLog?  Thanks, Mike Yes - itÃ? was this posting, along with a couple of other similar ones I discovered, that tell me that WL worked in the past to do exactly what I need. But it just doesn't work for me with V11.29b under Win7. I tried it yesterday before posting and again to make sure I was following instructions exactly. I don't see the "CQ will auto-resume" message, and the focus doesn't shift. If this is working for you there with a recent version of WL maybe I need to change some other option to make it go here. Please let me know what version you are using that it is working with.
