[Yaesu] FT-8500

I am using an ft-8500 at home with an Astron 20A power supply.  
Whenever I leave the supply off for more than about an hour I lose 
all of the memory settings ie. dimmer, VFO, scan stop, etc...  Does 
anyone else have the same problem or know how to fix it.
