Howdy,
   Thought I'd post a summary of the responses to my request for an ID on
the apparently amateur radio used in "The Lost World".  A big THANKS to
all who took the time to research/respond!
   Anyway, here are the numbers:  Two folks said a Yaesu FT-990, one for
the FT-1000 or 1000D.  One "voted" for a Kenwood TS-940S and another
believed it was a late model ICOM.
   So, there we have it folks.  Perhaps only Steven Spielberg (sp?) knows
for sure?
