Todd,
Go to http://www2.crosswinds.net/frankfurt/%7Evlaski/ and follow the ft-50
link at the top of the page for the full story.

After you have read that, go back to the original page and scroll down to
the other ft -50 link further down the page to download the software which
will solve all your problems.

It is much better than the ADMS software and it will open up a new world
for you.

Of course you can still use the cable that came with the ADMS software.

(removing the solder blob and resistor) which opened the TX portion of
the radio.  However, there must be something different in this newer
version because this didn't open up the cell receive like it had done on
an older FT50 I had a couple years back.  Did Yaesu change something in
the radio?  If so, is there a way to unblock the cell coverage by
hardware mod or software programming?
