[Yaesu] FT-107M s-meter lights

Has anyone had success in repairing the s-meter lights on an FT-107M? 
Mine are out and most every one I see listed for sale is in the same 
predicament.

Access seems very difficult, and it may not even be the bulb(s). 
Perhaps there's a work-around?
