Comments: Discovered some minor lightning damaged items that I didnt
have time to fix: bad diode in stackmatch controller and the NE beverage
components had blown up. Thunderstorms here this year have been
merciless...been hit 3 times now in about 5 weeks with relatively low cost,
but highly annoying damage. The death toll so far: 2 modems, 2 TNC's, 2
rotator controllers, 1 rotator motor, 2 hits to the stackmatch controller, a
28 v powersupply (for relays), an ICE bandsplitter and beverage transformer,
2 CATV splitters and a preamp. Been here for 6 years now and had only lost
a couple of dialup modems before this year! Sheesh!
The usual summertime NAQP...high bands were painful...low bands were
grand, except for lack of Western US activity. Passes to 10 were mostly
fruitless, but had high success on the rest of the bands.
