Soapbox:
Matt will do anything to avoid a phone contest - this time it was to
take the family to HI3 for 2 weeks! Hope everyone got a chance to
work him as HI3/K1CX in the contest. It was different this time
without the family there, it's nice to see the girls with breakfast
after you've been up all night. This time we had to fend for
ourselves.
Nice to have Steve K6AW and Bill W2RQ return, and welcome to Pedro
HC1OT who operated with us for the first time. Marty W1MD did double
duty, shuttling between Mason, NH and Harvard, MA to help the K1AR
boys out. On his anniversary weekend no less! We should all have
spouses who are so supportive :-)
This was really a night-time contest for us. Each day as the sun
rose, we were about 500 QSOs ahead of our pace last year. By the time
the sun set, we were back to break-even. Nothing broke and we all had
fun, that's the main thing.
Congratulations to Frank W3LPL and crew on their victory, coming on
the 20th anniversary of their first multi-multi win!
