Comments:
My first time operating this contest. I rented a 120 foot lift for the weekend.
Antenna was an inverted vee hung from the lift. No beverage first night as I
have to set-up "Field Day" style as I live on the grounds of an elementary
school and cannot install antennas until after school is out of session at 3:45.
Makes it difficult to run a beverage with the all the questioins from the
numerous cookie crunchers and only 15 minutes before the start of the contest.
Beverage made a difference second night as I worked alot of stations I would
have never heard without the beverage ( 540' NE ). I have been out of work for 2
months with an injured back, so I operated with several breaks the first night
and the second night I had to take an extended 3 1/2 hour break as my back was
hurting too badly too operate anymore. I got in the "DX window" a couple of
times due to being half asleep. Not much DX heard or worked here. Maybe next
year I'll try a vertcal hung from the lift with elevated radials. Great fun even
though I was not at my best physically. See everyone in the ten meter contest.
