Comments:
This was my first attempt at digital contesting. I'm an avid WriteLog
user/supporter and loaded MMTTY, the Plug-in, and MULTIPSK (tnx F6CTE and ARRL
QST-Jan Issue) just the night before. Special Tnx to AA0N - Mike who spent over
an hour helping me tune my connections for optimum performance. I learned as I
contested, mostly listened, from a remote location in NE Georgia on a mountain
lake (Lake Burton).
My Operating setup was an old Yaesu FT-757 GxII running 70 watts into a GAP
Titan at 7ft with a MFJ Soundcard interface. Nothing fancy but very intriguing
how easy it is to make contacts with the low output and nestled in a valley
surrounded by mountains (large hills to you Rocky Mountain folks).
I can't wait for the next opportunity!
